Daniel Cell Kit (Product Code: SCL-531/015) is an electrochemical cell kit of an outer copper vessel, a porous pot and a zinc rod, used to build a Daniell cell and show how a redox reaction drives a steady current in school chemistry and physics labs. Teachers use it for demonstrations and student practicals on cell EMF, and the copper vessel has a perforated shelf and terminal. It is made by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), an OEM manufacturer, at its own factory in Ambala, India.

The copper vessel acts as both the container for copper sulphate solution and the positive electrode, while the porous pot stands inside it and holds zinc sulphate solution around the zinc rod, which is held in place by its support. The porous wall lets ions pass between the two solutions but slows their mixing, so the cell keeps working steadily instead of fading quickly as a simple zinc–copper cell does. Copper sulphate crystals on the perforated shelf dissolve as the solution is used up, keeping it saturated during a longer practical.
Once assembled, the two terminals are wired to a voltmeter so students can record the cell EMF and relate it to the reactions at each electrode, a natural follow-on to work with copper sulphate crystals in school chemistry. Afterwards, empty both solutions, rinse the vessel and rod, soak the porous pot in clean water so salts do not crystallise in its pores, and let every part dry; handle the pot with care, since a cracked pot lets the solutions mix.
ScienceLab is the trading name of Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) of the Daniel Cell Kit. The kit is made at the company’s own licensed factory at Saha, Ambala, Haryana, India, and supplied factory-direct to schools, colleges, dealers and importers rather than through a trader.
If a porous pot or zinc rod needs replacing after heavy use, ask us — spares and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer itself. Details are on the ScienceLab company profile.
To run a complete Daniell cell practical you will also need the electrolytes and a way to measure the output:
Other electrochemistry and general apparatus is in the Chemistry Lab category.
What is included in the Daniel Cell Kit?
The Daniel Cell Kit includes an outer copper vessel of 125 x 75 mm with perforated shelf and terminal, a porous pot of 150 x 50 mm, and a zinc rod of 125 x 12 mm with its support and terminal.
Are chemicals supplied with the Daniel Cell Kit?
No electrolytes are listed as part of the Daniel Cell Kit. Copper sulphate for the copper vessel and zinc sulphate for the porous pot can be ordered separately from the related items above and quoted together with the kit.
What is the perforated shelf for?
The perforated shelf in the copper vessel of the Daniel Cell Kit holds copper sulphate crystals, which dissolve as the solution is used up and keep it saturated, so the cell gives a steadier output through a longer practical.
Which meter should I use with it?
Any voltmeter with a low range suited to a single cell works with the Daniel Cell Kit. Tell us which meters your lab already has, and we can suggest a suitable voltmeter and connecting wires to quote alongside the kit.
How do I look after the porous pot?
After each use of the Daniel Cell Kit, soak the porous pot in clean water so salts do not crystallise in its pores, let it dry fully and avoid knocks. A cracked pot lets the two solutions mix, so ask us about a replacement pot.
Who manufactures the Daniel Cell Kit?
The Daniel Cell Kit is manufactured by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab) as the OEM, at its own licensed factory at Saha, Ambala, Haryana, India. Schools and dealers buy it direct from the manufacturer, which also handles spares and repeat orders.
Can you supply kits for a full class or for export?
Yes. The Daniel Cell Kit is supplied factory-direct to schools, colleges and distributors in India and international markets; mention the number of kits and the delivery location in your enquiry.
Send the number of Daniel Cell Kit (SCL-531/015) sets you need through the contact page, or collect the kit, chemicals and meters in the enquiry cart and request one quotation, which comes direct from the manufacturer.
