ID Bracelet, Child, Red
The ID Bracelet, Child, Red (Product Code: SLE/AE/04) is a single-use, tamper-proof identification band in red for children in wards, therapeutic feeding centres, vaccination sites and field surveys. The child’s details are written with an ordinary ballpoint pen, the band is sized at the wrist or ankle, and a one-time clip locks it closed so it cannot be swapped between children. Typical Use
At admission or registration, staff write the child’s name, number and date on the band, or on the paper insert, and let the ink dry. The band is wrapped around the wrist or ankle with enough room for a finger underneath, the clip is pressed until it locks, and the surplus tail is cut off close to the clip so it cannot catch. Because the plastic will not stretch and the clip cannot be reopened, the band has to be cut off to be removed, which makes any tampering obvious.
Many centres use colour to separate groups of children at a glance, for example by ward, programme or follow-up category; the red band can serve one such group with the blue version for another.
