Mini Science Kit – Dissolving and Changes (Product Code: SLE/CH/157) is a topic kit about what happens when materials are mixed, dissolved, heated or separated again. Pupils investigate what makes a solid dissolve more quickly, how temperature affects dissolving, which changes occur on mixing, how evaporation works and how dirty water can be cleaned. Made by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India, it serves as an introductory solubility experiment kit for school science lessons on reversible and irreversible changes.

| Suitable for | Group investigations on changes of materials |
Activities performed with this kit:
A common starting point is the dissolving-speed challenge: groups predict whether stirring, crushing the solid or warming the water will make it disappear faster, then change one factor at a time and time the result. The temperature activity builds on this by comparing the same solid in cooler and warmer water. Pupils then mix different materials, sort the changes they see into those that can be reversed and those that cannot, and leave a solution to evaporate so they can recover the dissolved solid.
The cleaning-water activity shows how settling and filtering remove visible particles – a simple taste of what a full water purification science kit explores in more depth. Remind pupils that filtered classroom water is still not safe to drink. Use warm tap water rather than boiling water for the temperature tests, and label every container so results are not mixed up between groups.
Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, which does business as ScienceLab from its base in Ambala, Haryana, manufactures this kit as part of its range of topic kits for schools. You can learn about the company on our company profile page.

Which experiments are covered?
Seven: dissolving speed, changes on mixing, changing materials, cleaning water, evaporation, temperature and dissolving, and mixing materials.
Are the solids for dissolving supplied?
The kit’s contents are not itemised on this page. Many schools use everyday solids such as salt and sugar for these tests; ask us via the contact page to confirm what is packed.
Is the cleaned water safe to drink?
No. The activity removes visible dirt only and does not make water safe for drinking; treat it as a model of the process.
Do we need a heat source?
Warm tap water is usually enough to show the effect of temperature. If your lesson plan calls for heating, follow your school’s laboratory safety procedures.
How should containers be cleaned after use?
Rinse them in clean water, let them dry fully and store them in the kit so residues do not affect the next class’s results.
Can several kits be ordered for a school chain or tender?
Yes. We quote for multiple schools and deliver across India and international markets; include quantities per site in your request.
