Thermometer Clamp (Product Code: SLE/CH/12) is a stand clamp made specifically for supporting thermometers, built from a polished aluminium muff with brass clamping jaws. The jaws can be rotated and locked at any angle, so a thermometer can be held upright in a beaker, angled into a flask neck or positioned beside a distillation head. Made by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, it keeps thermometers steady and hands free during heating, cooling and distillation experiments in school, college and research labs.
| Parameter | Detail |
|---|---|
| Muff | Polished aluminium |
| Clamping jaws | Brass |
| Adjustment | Jaws rotate and lock at any angle |
| Purpose | Supporting thermometers |
Many temperature experiments go wrong because the thermometer rests on the bottom of the vessel or is held by hand. Clamping it lets the bulb sit in the middle of the liquid, clear of the hot glass, for cooling-curve, heating-curve, specific heat and rate-of-reaction work. In a laboratory distillation apparatus set-up the thermometer bulb must sit level with the side arm of the still head; the rotating brass jaws make it easy to set this position and lock it, even when the stand is not directly beside the flask.
Grip the thermometer on its stem, away from the bulb and scale, and tighten the jaws just enough to hold it — glass thermometers crack if squeezed hard. Slide the muff onto the stand rod, adjust the height so the bulb is immersed to the right depth, then fix the angle. After use, wipe the brass jaws and the polished muff to keep them free of chemical deposits, and store the clamp dry.
ScienceLab is the trade name of Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, an Ambala, Haryana company making clamps, supports and other laboratory apparatus for educational and research users. See our company profile.

What materials is it made from?
A polished aluminium muff with brass clamping jaws.
Can the thermometer be held at an angle?
Yes. The jaws can be rotated and locked at any angle.
Is a thermometer supplied with the clamp?
No thermometer is listed with the clamp; thermometers are available separately.
What rod diameter and thermometer size does it take?
These dimensions are not listed here. Send us your rod and thermometer sizes through the contact page and we will confirm the fit.
How do I avoid breaking thermometers?
Clamp on the stem, not the bulb, and tighten only until the thermometer no longer slips.
Can you supply clamps for every bench?
Yes. Give us the quantity and delivery location; we supply schools and institutions across India and international markets.
