What Is the Automatic CBR Test Apparatus Used For?
The California Bearing Ratio compares the load needed to push a standard piston into a soil or granular base with the load for a reference material, and it is widely used to size flexible pavement layers. A compacted specimen in its mould is set on the platen, the piston is brought into contact with the up and down buttons, and the machine then penetrates at the chosen constant rate while logging load and displacement.
