This compound microscope covers the full teaching range: the 4X and 10X objectives locate a specimen and show tissue layout, the 40X objective resolves individual cells and nuclei, and the 100X oil immersion objective brings bacteria and fine cell detail into view at 1000x. Two eyepieces reduce eye strain during long practical sessions, and the rotating head lets students on either side of a bench share the instrument.
Start every slide at the lowest power, centre the area of interest with the mechanical stage, then click up through the nosepiece and refocus with the fine control. At 100X, place a drop of immersion oil between slide and lens, and wipe the lens clean with lens tissue afterwards. Use the iris diaphragm and LED intensity control together to balance brightness and contrast.

What magnification does the Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED reach?
The Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED reaches 1000x by combining its 10X widefield eyepieces with the 100X/1.25 oil immersion objective. Lower powers come from the 4X, 10X and 40X achromatic semi-plan objectives on the quadruple nosepiece.
Does the Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED need immersion oil?
Yes, for its highest power. The 100X objective of the Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED is an oil immersion lens, so a drop of immersion oil is needed between slide and lens. The 4X, 10X and 40X objectives are used dry.
What kind of illumination does the Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED use?
The Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED uses 3W focusable LED illumination with intensity control, working with a spiral-mounted 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser and iris diaphragm. Together they let users adjust brightness and contrast for stained and unstained specimens.
How large is the stage on the Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED?
The Binocular Microscope, 1000x, LED has a 140 x 135mm low-position coaxial mechanical stage with a sample holder and 77 x 25mm X/Y travel. The low-position controls sit close to the focus knobs for comfortable scanning of a slide.
