What Is a CTG Monitor Used For?
Cardiotocography records the baby's heart rate alongside the mother's contractions on one time-based trace, so staff can see how the foetal heart responds to each contraction. An ultrasound transducer over the foetal heart and a pressure-sensitive transducer on the abdomen feed the monitor, and the wired event marker lets the mother or midwife note foetal movements or interventions on the record.
