Wipe the board from top to bottom in overlapping vertical strokes so loosened chalk falls towards the ledge instead of spreading across clean areas. The felt strips hold chalk dust as they work, so tap the duster gently against a bin or outside the window at the end of the lesson rather than clapping it inside the room.
