What Is the Gas Charging Trainer Used For?
Service technicians must be able to evacuate a refrigeration circuit, confirm the vacuum and then add the correct refrigerant charge. On this trainer students connect service lines to the intake and delivery connections, pull a vacuum with the pump while watching the vacuum gauge (0–1000 mbar), and then charge R134a from the filling cylinder while reading the intake and delivery manometers.
The R134a temperature scale on the manometer lets trainees convert pressure readings into saturation temperatures and judge whether a system is under- or over-charged. Always wear safety glasses and gloves when handling refrigerant, close the cylinder valve after charging, and never vent R134a to atmosphere.
