Multi Position Heating Mantle
Multi Position Heating Mantle (Product Code: SLE/LHM/05) is a bench unit designed to heat between 3 and 6 round bottom flasks simultaneously, with each heating mantle regulated by its own built-in temperature controller. The heating elements operate up to 350 °C, while a vented housing and air-flow design keep the outside of the unit cool to touch. Support rods and clamps are included. Typical Use
A multi-position mantle earns its bench space in two situations. In teaching laboratories, several students or pairs can run the same reflux or distillation side by side from one unit, so a whole practical group finishes together. In analytical and research work, the separate controllers let an analyst run replicate extractions in parallel, or compare the same preparation at different heat settings without needing a row of individual mantles and extension leads.
Fit each flask with its own reflux condenser or distillation head, fix the glassware to the supplied support rods with the clamps, and set every position individually before switching on. Leave unused positions switched off, keep the vents unobstructed so the housing stays cool, and route coolant tubing so it cannot touch the heated flasks. Checking that each flask matches the position's capacity ensures full contact with the element and even heating.
