What Is the Youngs Modulus Apparatus Used For?
Two wires hang side by side from the ceiling clamp, one carrying the scale plate and the other the vernier. The tension weight keeps the wires taut, and as loading masses are added to the test wire its end moves down against the scale, so the vernier gives the extension directly to 0.1 mm.
