What Is the K-Slump Tester Used For?
The tester is pushed into the fresh concrete up to the level of its disc. Over the next 60 seconds mortar flows into the hollow tube; the measuring rod is then lowered onto the concrete surface inside the tube and the K-slump is read straight off the scale. Using the correlation chart, the reading can be related to the conventional slump test.
Because it works in the formwork itself, the K-slump tester checks concrete where it has actually been placed, with no need to take a separate sample. Take readings at several points, clean the tube between insertions and test before the concrete begins to stiffen.
