What Is the Trinocular LED Microscope Used For?
A 1000x trinocular microscope handles the core slides of biology, zoology, botany and microbiology practicals: blood smears, bacteria, stained cheek cells, onion epidermis and prepared histology sections. The trinocular tube makes it a good demonstration instrument, because a teacher can mount a microscope camera and show the live field on a screen while students compare it with their own view. The cordless LED lets the microscope work on benches without a nearby socket.
Start at 4x to find the specimen, then move through 10x and S40x; set the rack stop so the objective cannot be driven into the slide. For S100x, place a drop of immersion oil on the cover glass, swing the oil objective in and focus with the fine control, which moves 12.5 µm per graduation. Wipe the oil off the objective with lens tissue at the end of every session.
